Self Catering Farmhouse Accommodation in the New Forest
Cross Farmhouse is a luxurious retreat situated in rural Dorset, close to the Hampshire county boundary. The New Forest National Park and Cranborne Chase AONB are both just a few miles from the property.
The Farmhouse is set in its own grounds of landscaped gardens in a quiet location, on the edge of the village of Alderholt. The house has been renovated to high standards, with a view to catering to all your holiday needs, in a relaxing environment.
All bedrooms boast luxury en-suite bathrooms, featuring Hans Grohe and Duravit sanitary wear. The house has underfloor heating throughout and a steam electric fire in the lounge, which also has a 65 inch TV.
There are many green features, including solar panels and sedum green roof to flat roof areas. Both front and rear gardens have been landscaped and offer total seclusion. There is a large terrace with a Webber gas BBQ and outdoor seating.
Guest access
Guests can enjoy the whole grounds, from the secure gated entrance drive, which leads down to the carport with spaces for up to three cars and an additional parking bay beyond. There is also a parking bay to the front of the property.
There is a paved sloping path leading up to the extra wide back door, to allow easy access for those needing to enter with a wheelchair and the paved outdoor area is all on one level to also facilitate ease of movement.

House rules:
- No smoking indoors.
- No dogs in the bedroom.
- No loud parties or events. Please respect the neighbourhood. Naturally, normal family gatherings & celebrations are acceptable.
- No muddy shoes in the house. There is an outdoor wash area in the carport
- Please restrict any ball games to the driveway adjacent to the carport.
Amenities
All rooms have underfloor heating.
All 4 bedrooms are ensuite. Three have showers and one has a bath. In addition, there is also a downstairs cloakroom.
Bedroom and laundry
Inside the kitchen is a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.
Towels, bed linen, extra pillows, blankets, coat hangers, soap and toilet paper are provided.
A high chair and travel cot are available on request (cot with sides that are adjustable in height).
Lounge / Dining Room
65″ HDTV, Indoor fireplace.
Home safety
In the kitchen, you will find a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.
Internet and office
Wifi is available throughout the property. There is a dedicated workspace with a desk and chair with space for a laptop.
Kitchen and dining
The kitchen has all the usual cooking implements as well as appliances. Items include:
- A baby high chair is available in the kitchen area with harness and tray.
- Cooking basics: Pots and pans, oil, salt & pepper, dishes, silverware, bowls, plates, cups, baking sheet, etc.
- Refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, induction cooker, Neff oven, toaster, wine fridge.
- Coffee maker: pour-over coffee.
- Wine glasses.
- Combined washing machine / tumble dryer.
- Barbecue utensils.
- Grill, iron skewers, etc.
Outdoor / Parking
The entrance to the property is via a private driveway leading to a 3 car carport with two open air parking positions.
The carport has an EV charger. However, no charge cable is provided. Therefore, please bring your own.
CCTV cameras are located for security surveillance on the drive areas, due to remote location.
Safety
There is a carbon monoxide as well as a smoke alarm fitted.
My 2 cats live next door and may visit.
Stairs – Three of the en-suite bedrooms are located upstairs on the first floor. A stairgate is available that is relocatable to either the top or bottom of the stairs.
